This Taxes, Fees & Price Disclosure applies to travel services offered through TripContrastFares.com, operated by Trip Contrast LLC (“Trip Contrast Fares,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an Independent Online Travel Agency (OTA).
IATA/IATAN Accredited #39797461
Trip Contrast Fares is not an airline. We facilitate travel reservations using inventory made available through airlines, Global Distribution Systems (“GDS”), authorized consolidators, airfare suppliers, wholesalers and other travel-distribution channels.
Our objective is to provide customers with clear pricing information before they authorize payment and before a reservation is ticketed.
The price applicable to a reservation is presented to the customer during the booking and payment process.
Before a customer authorizes payment, the applicable amount to be charged for the selected reservation is disclosed on the payment/billing page.
Customers are given an opportunity to review the applicable booking details and price before submitting payment authorization.
We do not intend to conceal mandatory charges or add undisclosed Trip Contrast Fares charges after a customer has authorized the disclosed transaction amount.
Customers should carefully review the payment page before authorizing a transaction.
Depending upon the itinerary, airline, destination, fare type and ticketing arrangement, the amount associated with an airline reservation may consist of several components, including:
The composition of taxes and airline/supplier-imposed charges varies according to the itinerary and applicable ticket.
Air travel can be subject to taxes, duties and charges imposed by governmental authorities, airports and other competent authorities.
These amounts can vary based on factors including:
Such taxes and charges are generally collected as part of the applicable airfare transaction and remitted through the airline/ticketing/distribution process as appropriate.
Trip Contrast Fares does not independently establish government-imposed tax rates.
Airlines may impose certain charges or surcharges in connection with a fare.
These may include carrier-imposed surcharges and other airline-specific amounts incorporated into the ticket price.
Such amounts should not necessarily be interpreted as government taxes simply because they appear alongside taxes or other ticket components.
The applicable airline determines airline-imposed charges.
As an independent OTA, Trip Contrast Fares may charge a service, booking, processing or agency fee for services provided in connection with a reservation.
Where such a fee applies to the original booking, the applicable amount is disclosed to the customer before payment authorization is completed.
Our service fees may vary depending upon factors such as:
A customer should review the applicable price and fee information presented before completing payment.
Trip Contrast Fares may obtain airfare through airlines, authorized consolidators, airfare suppliers, wholesalers, GDS channels and other travel-distribution arrangements.
Certain private, negotiated, bulk, consolidator, promotional or special fares may have pricing structures different from standard publicly available fares.
Depending upon the arrangement, the amount presented to the customer may incorporate applicable supplier costs, taxes, airline-imposed amounts and agency/service components.
Regardless of the underlying commercial structure, the customer is shown the applicable amount required for the reservation before authorizing payment.
Special fares may also carry additional restrictions regarding cancellation, changes or refunds. Any material booking-specific restrictions presented during checkout should be reviewed before purchase.
Our booking/payment process is designed so that the customer can review the amount associated with the transaction before submitting payment authorization.
The payment page may display the applicable fare and/or other pricing components as appropriate to the booking arrangement.
The customer should not authorize payment unless the customer:
By submitting payment authorization, the customer confirms acceptance of the disclosed transaction amount and applicable booking conditions.
In some travel-distribution arrangements, the total cost associated with a reservation may be processed through more than one transaction or merchant, such as an airline/supplier transaction and a separate Trip Contrast Fares transaction.
Where a booking involves multiple charges, the applicable payment information will be disclosed to the customer before authorization so that the customer can understand the transaction arrangement.
The customer's bank or card statement may consequently display separate transaction descriptions corresponding to the entities processing the respective amounts.
The combined amount authorized for the disclosed booking should correspond to the pricing arrangement accepted by the customer, subject to any separately authorized subsequent purchases.
Prices are displayed in the currency indicated during the booking process.
If a customer's payment card or bank account operates in another currency, the card issuer or financial institution may perform a currency conversion.
The customer's bank/card issuer may independently impose:
Such charges are imposed by the customer's financial institution and are not Trip Contrast Fares service fees.
Customers should contact their card issuer for information concerning those charges.
The price of an airline ticket does not necessarily include every optional service associated with travel.
Depending upon the airline and fare, customers may separately incur charges for services such as:
Such charges may be imposed and collected directly by the airline or another applicable service provider.
Optional products purchased separately after the original reservation are not considered undisclosed charges to the original booking.
Airfare is dynamic and can change based upon airline inventory and availability.
Search results, quotations and displayed availability do not necessarily guarantee a fare until the applicable reservation has been confirmed and ticketed in accordance with the booking terms.
If a fare or itinerary becomes unavailable before ticketing, Trip Contrast Fares will not intentionally substitute a higher-priced itinerary and charge the customer without the customer's authorization.
Where a material price change requires additional customer payment, the revised amount must be communicated and accepted before an additional charge is authorized.
Although we endeavor to display accurate pricing, technical, supplier, GDS, airline or human errors may occasionally result in an incorrect fare or pricing information being displayed.
Where an obvious or material pricing error is identified before ticketing, we may contact the customer regarding the issue rather than completing a transaction on materially incorrect information, subject to applicable law.
We will not use a pricing error as authorization to charge an undisclosed higher amount.
Fees and costs associated with voluntary changes, cancellations, reissues or other services requested after ticket issuance are governed separately.
Customers should refer to our:
Post-Ticketing Fee Policy
and, where relevant:
Cancellation Policy
for information concerning services requested after a ticket has been issued.
This Taxes, Fees & Price Disclosure primarily addresses pricing and charges associated with the customer's original booking and payment authorization.
Whether an amount is refundable following cancellation depends upon the applicable fare rules, airline/supplier requirements, nature of the charge and applicable law.
Some taxes or charges may be refundable even where the underlying fare is non-refundable, while other amounts may not be refundable.
Any legally required refund will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Please refer to our Cancellation Policy and applicable booking conditions for additional information.
Trip Contrast Fares does not treat a customer's original payment authorization as unlimited authorization to impose additional charges.
If an additional Trip Contrast Fares payment becomes necessary because the customer subsequently requests a new service, modification, upgrade or other transaction, the applicable additional amount should be disclosed and separately authorized as appropriate.
This does not include charges independently imposed by an airline, airport, government, bank, card issuer or other third party outside Trip Contrast Fares' control.
Before submitting payment, customers should carefully verify:
Customers should not authorize payment if the displayed information does not correspond with the reservation they intend to purchase.
Trip Contrast Fares is committed to providing customers with clear information regarding the commercial nature of their transaction.
Our core pricing principle is:
The customer should be able to identify the applicable amount to be paid before payment is authorized.
Where Trip Contrast Fares charges a service or booking fee in connection with the original reservation, it is disclosed as part of the applicable payment process before authorization.
We do not represent government taxes, airline charges or supplier charges as being imposed by Trip Contrast Fares when they are imposed by another entity.
If you have questions regarding the taxes, fees or price associated with your reservation, please contact us before completing payment.
